Residents are required to give 28 days notice before leaving their homes to allow sufficient time for the council to make necessary arrangements, such as preparing the property for the next tenant, ensuring all legal and administrative tasks are completed, and managing any outstanding issues related to the tenancy. This notice period ensures a smooth and efficient transition for both the departing resident and the incoming tenant.

If the notice is submitted by someone other than the tenant, it will be treated as an intention to terminate the tenancy. In such cases, we will contact the tenant directly or seek written authorisation from their legal representative. The submission date of this notice will be regarded as the commencement of the 28-day notice period.
